Welcome To The Aero Squadron

We are pleased that you have decided to explore the possibility of joining the Aero Squadron. There are two ways to participate with us: as a Civilian Volunteer or as a Reserve Officer.

If you decide to join us, we strongly recommend that you start the process by becoming a Civilian Volunteer. As a Civilian Volunteer you are able to participate in Squadron activities. The process takes between 30 to 90 days to complete. If you decide to continue on to Reserve Officer status, your paperwork, background check, etc. can be accomplished while you are participating as an active member of the Squadron. The Reserve application process takes approximately six to eight months.

Activities

1. All members participate in transportation flights, air search, County disaster, air surveillance and assist the Department where needed. Each January/February the Department has an Emergency Services Banquet where the units new officers are sworn in and Squadron Member of the Year Award is presented.
2. Civilian Volunteers may participate in all Squadron activities except activities which involve law enforcement duties. In some cases, you may participate if a reserve officer accompanies you.
